Preparing for their First Birthday with Carters Little Baby Basics

Disclaimer: This Little Baby Basics post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oliver is about to turn one and I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. I am completely unprepared and overwhelmed by the idea of his first birthday.

Right now, he is in my absolute favorite infant stage. 9-12 months. It’s when they’re still “baby” enough to need you. They still like to cuddle. They still want to be rocked to sleep. They still nurse or drink from a bottle. But, they’re getting old enough to where they wave, dance, clap, interact, play, and maybe babble a few words. They’re interactive and fun but still cuddly babies.

Ebags Review: How to Pack Effectively for the Entire Family!

Packing is by far one of the most stressful parts of traveling as a family. As a Mom, I’m usually responsible for packing for myself, the kids, my husband, and even prepare everything for the dog while we’re away. It’s a lot.

I’ve found that having a system can really help with packing for everyone before a trip.

My ThredUp Review

I love finding great new additions to my wardrobe, and I’m a sucker for a great deal. Shopping secondhand I can often find great prices for much less- sometimes even with a designer label!

As I was revamping my spring and summer wardrobe, I knew I wanted to search ThredUP again. As we’ve been saving for a house and putting my husband through school, we like to save money wherever possible and I knew that by searing through ThredUP I could find quality pieces for much less.

When to Transition to DockATot Grand

Disclaimer: This post is in collaboration with DockATot. All opinions are my own. Please visit my disclaimer page for more information.

It’s no secret that we love DockATot in our house. Oliver slept in one in between us in our bed basically since birth, and Sawyer has slept in his ever since we transitioned him out of a crib.

When Oliver started to get to big for his Deluxe, I was heartbroken! My baby was growing up. We tried letting the boys share our DockATot Grand for a while, and that was a no go. Sawyer is incredibly attached to it and didn’t like his brother sleeping in it, so we knew we needed another one!

Must Sees at Sea World San Diego

Disclaimer: Thank you to Sea World San Diego for providing media tickets for our day. All opinions are my own.

We love to visit Sea World when we’re in San Diego! Sawyer loves animals. Especially sharks, so Sea World is a must see for us when we’re in the area. This trip in particular, we had already secured our tickets, when we all caught nasty colds! Sawyer had it the worst of all of us, he even got a cough that turned to croup so I didn’t want to overdo it, but I also didn’t want the tickets to go to waste!

He was starting to feel a lot better by the time our scheduled Sea World day rolled around, so we decided to go for it. He had such a great time last time we went to Sea World so we wanted to make sure we went if we could. but keep the day short, and only hit the must see exhibits so we didn’t tire him out too much. My husband was also skipping Sea World so it was going to be just me, alone at a them park with 2 kids (one of them an infant), and I didn’t want to wear myself out!

Spring Style with Ruthie Grace Boutique

Disclaimer: This post is in collaboration with Ruthie Grace Boutique. All opinions are my own.

I love when the weather starts getting warmer and spring starts to come out. Granted, I live in Colorado where it can be 70 degrees one day and 20 degrees the next, even in April, so I take all the warm spring days I can get!

Since I live in Colorado It’s cold usually October-May. Fall and Spring can be just as cold as Winter, so Summer is really the only truly warm season we get! Once the warm weather starts creeping in, I start preparing my wardrobe. I love switching out my sweaters for dresses and my boots for sandals, it’s the best time of the year!

The Courtyard by Marriot Anaheim Theme Park Entrance at Disneyland!

We LOVED staying at the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance at Disneyland! This hotel was such a treat. The hotel alone is a mini-vacation in itself, let alone that it’s only a 5 minute walk from Disneyland!

The Courtyard by Marriot Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is actually closer to the Disneyland gates than the actual Disneyland hotel! It’s only a 5 minute walk from your room to the turnstiles. Not only is the hotel super close to Disneyland, but it’s also surrounded by great restaurants. You can easily head back to your room for naptime, a meal, or a swimming break! In the mornings you can effortlessly walk to get breakfast at one of the many nearby options.

Learning to Love Myself

Losing the weight after baby #2 was much more difficult than with baby #1. When I had Sawyer the weight just kind of…fell off. With all the calories I burned breastfeeding, and the swelling that finally went down after preeclampsia, I lost a lot of weight in the first few weeks by doing nothing at all. 10 lbs or so stuck around, but then I went back to my job at Orangetheory Fitness where I could literally workout whenever I wanted, for free, and lost those last 10 lbs pretty easily after that.

And then, badaboom, my pre baby body was back.

Don’t get me wrong, things were different. I had a C-Section which means I was pretty much stuck with that “mommy pouch” and a giant scar for life but the number on the scale went back to what it was, and I started fitting back into my old clothes.

Your Guide to Legoland California

Disclaimer: Thank you to Legoland for providing media tickets for our day. All opinions are my own.

We recently visited Legoland California and had an amazing time! Sawyer has been loving legos lately, and Legoland is such a little boy’s paradise, he had a blast! And we had a blast watching him. We were pleasantly surprised, that even at only (almost) 3, he was tall enough for a TON of rides and activities! There’s so much to do at Legoland California, and you want to make sure you see it all so here’s my official guide!

Family Travel Tips

Traveling with kids. It’s not for the faint of heart. Traveling with your family, especially if you’re doing a lot of activities while away, it can be a real chore when the kids are along for the ride.

But, as always, there are a few things you can do to make it easier. Here are a few tips I picked up on our most recent trip. They’re slightly random, but they were too good not to share!
