Pack your Purse to Combat Morning Sickness and Pregnancy Woes

It’s still that time of year. The time for sickness. Yuck. Especially the stomach bug! Just this past weekend we were out of town and my sister came down with it. But, even when it’s not that time of year, there are still a lot of things you can do that will keep you healthy.

I’ve always had tummy issues. It’s caused me a lot of pain and sick days over the years. I’ve learned a good way to keep my gut healthy is by taking probiotics.

What is a probiotic?

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your digestive system. We usually think of bacteria as something that causes diseases. But your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called “good” or “helpful” bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy.

Chemical Free in 2017- Odors

Disclaimer: I received these products in exchange for review. All opinions are my own.

Hello!

My apologies that I haven’t been posting as often the past couple of weeks. This pregnancy exhaustion is getting the best of me. But I’m nearing the end of the first trimester and starting to get some energy back so hopefully I will be back to my regular blogging routine soon!

I’m connoting my journey to rid my home of harmful chemicals into 2017. I made a lot of progress last year, but I’m not done yet! Today I want to talk about odors.

For the Hot Mess Mom- New Year’s Cards!

Disclaimer: I received product from Tiny Prints in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own. Visit my disclaimer page for more information.

I’m a hot mess. But you guys know that already. With the pregnancy zapping all my energy, time totally got away from me on Christmas cards this year. And I really wanted to finally do them! Our family had a grown a lot this year, and we had some exciting news to announce! However, Christmas came and went and I never got around to doing cards.

It’s kind of a hassle, isn’t it? You have to hire a photographer, schedule a family photoshoot, pay the photographer, design your cards, order the prints, pay for them, buy stamps, address them all, then send them out. Phew.

Baby Brown #2

If you haven’t already heard the news…I’m pregnant with Baby Brown #2!

I’m about 11 weeks along. We waited to announce due to the fact that we lost our last one, so we wanted to wait until at least the first ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy was viable and going well. We didn’t wait the full 12 weeks most people usually wait to announce, because I’m already showing and couldn’t hide it anymore! I got a little bump probably around 8 or 9 weeks that rounded out by week 10. They sure aren’t kidding when they say you show earlier with your second! I wasn’t expecting this at all! I know it’s a minuscule bump compared to what it will look like 20 weeks from now, but I feel huge. I waited to tell my coworkers about Baby Brown #2 until we knew everything was okay and I had to hide it at work, that was stressful.

Master Bedroom Update

Disclaimer: I received these products in exchange for review. All opinions are my own. Visit my disclaimer page for more information.

Hello all!

I know I’ve been absent this week. Thank you all so much for your positivity and support in response to our pregnancy announcement. We have been blown away! I plan on doing a full post on finding out I was pregnant and my first trimester in a few days. But for now, I wanted to update you on our Master Bedroom!

I know I mentioned a few months ago that we were updating some things in our living room and master bedroom. We didn’t go for a full renovation because we didn’t want to spend too much money, and we know we didn’t have a ton of time to devote to it either. But we wanted to update a few things to make them more modern. Our style has changed a lot since we first moved in 3 years ago! Plus it was our first place of our own, and we didn’t really have a clue- design wise. Our couch was bright red if that tells you anything.

The first thing I wanted for updating our bedroom was new bedding. Ours was always kind of messy and never fully matched. We’re grown ups and I wanted a real bedding set! I did a full post on our bedding from Beddy’s, be sure to read it here. Beddy’s is zipper bedding and it’s amazing, it makes making the bed so much easier! It just zips right up! Plus it’s really warm and cozy, perfect for Colorado winters.

Let’s Actually Reach Those 2017 Goals

Disclaimer: I received a START Planner in exchange for review. All opinions are my own. Visit my disclaimer page for more information.

“New Year, New Me!”

I HATE THAT PHRASE. Anyone else?

Almost all New Year’s Resolutions are abandoned by February. I work in a fitness studio and January is by far our busiest month. It’s always back to normal by February. How sad is that?

I’m not saying I’m a great goal keeper. I stopped making resolutions years ago. They just seemed pointless after years of never keeping them.

When I was 19 I set a goal to give up drinking soda. It happened to be around Christmas time of that year. I guess it was kind of a New Year’s Resolution, although I didn’t intend it to be. But I didn’t! I’m 24 now and I don’t drink soda. I don’t order it at restaurants and I don’t keep it in my house. I have it on special occasions (parties and such) and to help calm my stomach when I’m sick, and that’s about it.

Friday Favorites- Beautycounter

Happy Friday!

Do you ever wonder what’s in your make up? No? I never did either. But you should. It’s kind of terrifying! The average american woman puts 12-20 chemicals on her skin every single day. And your skin absorbs up to 60% of what you put on it.

And think about this Europe has banned 1,300 chemicals from being used in beauty and personal products. The U.S. has banned 11.

Those are some scary numbers. We don’t even realize the harmful things we are letting into our home, let alone putting right on our skin!

Enter, Beautycounter. Beautycounter has a “never” list. A list of harmful ingredients they vow to never use in their products (check out the never list here). Every product from Beautycounter is 100% natural and safe. They are products you can feel god about putting on your skin, rather than fearful. Beautycounter lists every single ingredient used on their labels. Which, get this, is not required by law, which is why many other companies do not. So we have no idea what we’re using!

We ended up traveling a lot this year! We got 2 separate vacations which is unheard of for us! We spent a week in Balboa Island, my favorite place in the world.

Friday Favorites- Okie B and Jack Jack and Co

Merry Christmas Eve, Eve! Can you believe it’s already the 23rd? Where has December gone?

I can’t wait for Christmas this year! While I’m especially excited to take the next 2 days off, I also can’t wait to see Sawyer’s face on Christmas morning. Last year he was only 6 months old and while he appreciated his new toys (he mostly appreciated the wrapping paper), this year should be a lot more fun for him.

But I have a few fun things to share with you today so let’s get started.
