I had an amazing birthday. I’m a big fan of birthdays! Not just my birthday, but everyone’s birthday! Growing up they were always a big deal. I looked forward to my parents and siblings birthdays almost as much as my own. We always spent the day together doing an activity of the birthday person’s choice and then having a family party with their dinner of choice, cake and presents. And every other year we got to a have a big party with all our friends. I have such great memories of birthdays as a kid.

Muslin Swaddle Blankets: The Only Way To Go! (Featuring Oliver + Kit and a giveaway!)

What is muslin? Muslin is a lightweight, breathable cotton fabric. It originated in Bangladesh during the middle ages and is typically used in sewing, and even as a filter in cooking! Lately, muslin has been used to make popular infant products. Especially in swaddle blankets.

Unexpected Surprises

Sawyer was a completed surprise. We didn’t want kids for a few more years and we shocked to find out I was pregnant. But now that he’s here, I’m so, so thankful that God’s plans are better than my own.

When Love Gets Hard

Most days, I feel like I’m drowning.

Most days, I feel like I’m working all day, but not getting anything done.

Most days, I cry out of frustration that I have so much going on, I will never, ever, see the end of my to-do list.

Most days are hard. Being a working Mom I have all the responsibilities of a stay at home mom, plus my work responsibilities, and most days, it’s too overwhelming to bear.

Birthday Giveaway!

November is the greatest for a lot of reasons, but one in particular, my birthday! I’m turning 23 on this coming Sunday, and for some reason, 23 feels a lot older than 22. But, I’ve always loved my birthday because of the time of year it is in. The leaves have changed and the first snow is on it’s way. And best of all, Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Fall Style Featuring PinkBlush

This year, I was in serious need of a new fall wardrobe. All of my clothes from last year didn’t fit quite right now that I’ve had a baby, and I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on new stuff. But, I wanted to feel comfortable and beautiful in this new post-baby body of mine, so I searched some trendy boutiques online to see if I could find some cute, affordable clothing.

And, of course, I came across PinkBlush! I shopped with PinkBlush on more than one occasion when I was pregnant. Their maternity line is to die for and so affordable! I even got my bridesmaids dress for my sister’s wedding from PinkBlush, as well as my baby shower dress.

When I first ordered my bridesmaid dress it was out of stock in my size, but my sister and I had our hearts set on it so we sent in a request asking to be emailed when it was back in stock. They got back to us in plenty of time and we ordered right away! I honestly didn’t think a mint green, floral, maternity dress existed, but we found it through ShopPinkBlush!

I Don’t Want My Pre-Baby Body Back (Ft. BeachBody by Stefanie)

Everyone always talks about getting their body back after baby. Everyone wants to fit into their pre-baby jeans and get rid of their stretch marks as quickly as possible. This never made sense to me.

Why would you want to go back? I can never and will never get my pre-baby body back. The body before baby is gone. That body never housed a life. It had never stretched to accommodate a living thing. It had never grown a tiny human. It had never endured the pains of delivery and recovery. It had never produced milk for my baby to eat.

I Promised I Wouldn’t

When I was pregnant I did all the research I could about motherhood. I read all the articles. All the blogs. I people watched mothers with bags under their eyes chase their children in the mall, all while pushing a stroller. I saw mothers with screaming babies wander aimlessly around target, at if they couldn’t even hear them. I stepped into extremely messy houses of friends with children who just “didn’t have time to clean.” Every time I saw this, I thought the same thing:

That won’t be me.

Easy Home Fall Decor featuring Let Them Be Gold

Don’t you just love Fall? I hate to be super basic here, but there is nothing better than when the air gets crisp and the leaves change! One of my favorite parts about Fall is the fashion (more on that later) and the decor! I just love decorating my house for Autum!

Side note: I found this on Instagram, had a good laugh, and then decided I should probably start using the term Autumn instead of Fall more often, ha!

Last year, our first year as a married couple in our own home, I was so excited to start decorating and bought a few cute, inexpensive pieces to make our home feel festive. This year, I added on a few more and love the way it looks. I didn’t spend very much money on anything, it’s easy to decorate with just a couple good pieces! In fact, it’s so easy, and inexpensive, I’d like to share my finds with you!

The Worst Thing

I chose a C-section.

And it wasn’t the worst thing. It was the best thing. It potentially saved mine and Sawyer’s life.

I hear a lot of talk about birth plans. For some reason, women seem to be deathly afraid of C-sections. They want to avoid them at all costs, it is their worst case scenario.
