I can’t believe I’m 24 weeks! I would say this pregnancy is flying by but it’s not. I have actually been pregnant forever and still have a long ways to go.
How far along? 24 weeks
How big is baby? Baby is the size of a grapefruit!
Symptoms? Heartburn, fatigue, pelvic pressure/pain, headaches, braxton hicks, “pregnancy cold”
Cravings? ICE.
Gender? It’s a boy!
Last time I updated we didn’t know the gender yet, but we have since found out it’s a boy! (Check out our gender reveal here) I’m craving ice like crazy just like I did when I was pregnant with Sawyer. I just love to crunch it between my teeth. I have a cup full of ice next to me all day, every day, and every night Kurtis and I make homemade slushies. AKA put juice and ice in the blender, blend it up, and eat it with spoons.
I’m still working 2 days per week which is going well, and blogging on the days that I’m home. I’m pretty tired but I’m getting a lot done. The baby is moving around a lot, always after 11pm it seems like which is making it hard to sleep. The one good thing about the first/early second trimester is you’re just so incredibly exhausted that you sleep like a rock all night. It’s great. I miss that!
I haven’t had my liver functions checked since my 16 week checkup so I’m not sure how my levels are. I’m hoping and praying they’re still normal. I get to see the doctor again this week and hopefully everything looks good.
We haven’t decided on any names (not that we’ll tell anyone when we do), we literally can’t agree on anything. I’m convinced my husband doesn’t like any boy names that aren’t from the viking age. So, we’ll see how this goes.
We’re going on vacation at the end of the month! I’m really excited about it. We decided we wanted to do something special with Sawyer while he’s still an only child (and I can still travel), so we’re taking him to Disneyland! I’m a little nervous because I’ll be 27 weeks at the time so it’s probably a going to be a long exhausting day for me. But I love Disney so much and I’m so excited for Sawyer to see it so I hope my feet can keep up. Any tips for pregnant ladies at theme parks? We’re doing a day at Sea World later in the week too. I know, I’m crazy.
But I hope, looking back, we remember all the fun we had with our first baby. And not that my feet were swollen and my back was achy, and I complained it was too hot the whole time, haha. I hope it goes well!
xoxo.
