Last weekend, we had the incredible privilege of checking out the newest location of the Great Wolf Lodge- Colorado Springs!
3 years ago, construction began on what was supposed to be a grand hotel and convention center. Unfortunately, the project was scrapped, and the future hotel sat there, unfinished, for almost 2 years. Finally, the Great Wolf Lodge came along and decided to buy the property for their newest location. Because construction on the hotel had already been started, that gave Great Wolf Lodge room to be creative with the extra space.
Because the convention center space had already been built out, Great Wolf Lodge decided to utilize it to create the first “dry” adventure park in the Great Wolf franchise. This was by far a highlight of our stay. Great Wold Lodge offers adventure passes that allows you to experience the Adventure Park. The Adventure Parks offers attractions such as a full arcade, mini golf, a climbing wall, a ropes course, the creation station, a bowling alley and MagiQuest. The addition of the Adventure Park provides entertainment for days, making it so you truly never need to leave the resort during your vacation.
We’ve been through a lot of airports with Sawyer. At that point, he’s a pretty well traveled baby (if you count going back and forth to the west coast 3 times a year well traveled). We’ve been through Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Deigo, Orange County, and Sacramento. That’s a lot of airports! And a lot of hours spent in airports.
But navigating the airport with your little one doesn’t have to be a horrible experience. In fact, it can be kind of enjoyable (just don’t attempt to sprint to catch a flight while pushing a stroller, it ain’t gonna happen). I love everything about traveling. I love packing, I love carry-on bags, I love passports, I love printing boarding passes, I love airports, I love airport coffee, I love plane snacks, I love hotels, I love it all!
But I hate stress. And sometimes, I just flat out refuse to have it. Traveling is such a happy thing! Hopefully you’re going somewhere fun and get a few days off from work and real life. Getting there shouldn’t be a drag. Here are my tips for making your trek through the airport with your little one a breeze.
For those of you that follow along on Instagram, you know we had an amazing end of summer vacation! We went to my Grandparents house in San Diego. We relaxed by the pool visited our families, went to the beach, and ate way too much, it was perfect!
Since we both have family in southern California, we did spend a lot of time driving around to various cities (Laguna Beach, Pacific Beach, Corona), to ensure we saw everyone. But we had a lot of downtime at the house, which made for plenty of time to relax in the pool!
It’s a happy Monday today! We’re leaving for vacation tonight! Yay!
We had an amazing summer. Seriously, incredible. I made a goal at the beginning of the summer to spend less time on the couch and more time outside, experiencing life. I’m so glad I did that. I live in Colorado, so there’s plenty of time for Netflix binges during our countless snowstorms.
Couch, I’m coming for you in a few months. But for now, it’s still summer until September 21st! We thought we’d end summer with a bang and go on one last vacation. We can’t wait!
In the spirit of summer, I have something really cool to share with you today. You might have seen me freaking out over it on my Instagram and Snapchat stories (in the words of my husband, I’m easily amused). I had so much fun with these products, and I know you will too.

We’ve been lucky to go on quite a few adventures since Sawyer has been born. A few weekend getaways and a few vacations! Next week, we’re heading out to San Diego! This will be Sawyer’s 3rd out of state trip, making for his 5th plane ride! We’ve learned quite a few tips and tricks for traveling with a baby (now toddler).
Packing your carry-on correctly is essential. As moms, the diaper bag will be our carry on, and we need to make sure it is stocked with everything we need for a smooth flight! There is nothing worse than a cranky baby on an airplane. It’s horrible for the parents, and for the other passengers! Here are all my tips and tricks for flying with your little one.

I can’t believe we’re coming up on the end of summer! It absolutely flew by and we’ve had so much fun! I know what some of you are thinking ‘I didn’t even do anything this summer!’ .
We, as a society, are so lazy! I blame Netflix. Netflix has made us lazy, ha! But it’s true! And while I’m always down for a good binge watching session, I want to present during the summer. For my family and friends, I want to get out and explore and experience! We live in Colorado, half of the year we are shut up inside due to the snow and cold temperatures. So during the summer, I want more than anything to be active! I know when Sawyer grows up I want him to have amazing memories of summertime with his family.
Disclaimer: I received park-hopper tickets from Legoland, CA and a media pass to the unveiling of the One World Trade Center in exchange for promotion. All opinions expressed are my own.
I can’t begin to explain how honored I was, not only to be selected as an official Legoland blogger, but to also be invited to the unveiling of the new One World Trade Center in Miniland, USA. I cannot wait to make many more memories with Sawyer at Legoland as he gets older! We cannot be more excited to be a part of this program!
Miniland, USA is by far my favorite part of Legoland. It is so incredible! I could spend all day there just looking at all the displays (especially the Star Wars scenes…but that’s for a whole other post). Everything is built on a 1:20 scale and it’s amazing. They have models of Las Vegas, Washington DC, London, and more! It’s almost breathtaking seeing all the intricate details and hours of work that must go in to making them.
