It’s still that time of year. The time for sickness. Yuck. Especially the stomach bug! Just this past weekend we were out of town and my sister came down with it. But, even when it’s not that time of year, there are still a lot of things you can do that will keep you healthy.
I’ve always had tummy issues. It’s caused me a lot of pain and sick days over the years. I’ve learned a good way to keep my gut healthy is by taking probiotics.
What is a probiotic?
Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your digestive system. We usually think of bacteria as something that causes diseases. But your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called “good” or “helpful” bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy.

Speaking of all that food, let’s talk about working it off! As most of you know I work for Orangetheory Fitness (the Parker, CO location), and that is, of course, my all-time favorite way to work out! However, since I’m a mom, I can usually only take an OTF class before or after my shift, and since I’m only working 1 or 2 days a week, that’s not cutting it!
So, on days when I can’t make it in to the studio for a workout, I try my best to workout at home! I stocked up on a few simple, inexpensive items, to make up my home workout equipment. Here’s what I suggest:

FabFitFun is probably the happiest mail of all. It’s a box full of girly goodies that only comes 4 times a year! I think that because it doesn’t come very often, that makes it even better! I have such a treat for you guys today! I have been making these protein balls forever! They’re always a hit, and people are constantly asking for the recipe. I played around with it a bit in the last few months since we’ve gone paleo, and I think I finally perfected it! I’m so excited to share it today.
Finding something that tastes good and is also good for you can be so hard. I’m really picky, and it’s not often that I actually enjoy and feel satisfied by something that is clean. Eating clean is a big sacrifice for me, because I feel sometimes it means giving up good tastes and flavors. Since I’m so picky, I tend to stick with things that are more bland in the first place. And then to add in eating clean can make eating kind of dull. So, I try to create my own recipes whenever I can and play with flavors!
Life gets crazy and sometimes I need a pick me up. But I want that pick me up to be sweet, I also want it to be good for me. But, it still has to taste good. I want it to give me energy, and I don’t want to spend a ton of time making it, nor do I want to do a ton of dishes afterwards.
It’s been a super crazy week and life is currently taking some crazy twists and turns. After a long few days of grown up decision making, I am definitely ready for a relaxing weekend!

If you follow me on snapchat (@katielovelyy) you probably see me meal prepping every Monday. It’s a whole ordeal but it makes the rest of the week so much easier! I still follow a mostly paleo diet (80/20) and meal prep makes it easier to stick to. Kurtis, however, doesn’t follow paleo as strictly but does like to eat well. So I meal prep for both of us. Here’s what I usually meal prep:
Everyone always talks about getting their body back after baby. Everyone wants to fit into their pre-baby jeans and get rid of their stretch marks as quickly as possible. This never made sense to me.
Why would you want to go back? I can never and will never get my pre-baby body back. The body before baby is gone. That body never housed a life. It had never stretched to accommodate a living thing. It had never grown a tiny human. It had never endured the pains of delivery and recovery. It had never produced milk for my baby to eat.
